Selous Game Reserve: Africa's Untamed Wilderness Awaits

Selous Game Reserve is an immense area of protected wilderness that has remained untouched for thousands of years. Also, the largest protected wet wilderness area in Africa. It is the largest Game Reserve and one of favorite game viewing areas in Africa.


SELOUS GAME RESERVE located in the South of Tanzania and four times the size of Serenget i. A large area of the reserve is drained by the Rufiji River. There are over 2,000 species of plants, over 430 species of birds, and 60 species of mammals, and plenty of wildlife including Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos and Crocodiles.

Day 1: Flight to Selous Game Reserve

06:45 AM – Arrival at Selous Game Reserve (Mtemere Airstrip)


Today you will have a full day of game drive in Selous game reserve, with picnic lunch. With an area of around 50,000sq km, (5% of Tanzania’s land surface) Selous game reserve is one of the largest protected areas in the world. Its size is stunning, bigger than Switzerland or Denmark, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. Visitors therefore find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the trodden tourist routes. Its wildlife (including Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos and Crocodiles.) are very spectacular.
