Unveiling Africa's Natural Splendor: Selous Game Reserve

Discover Tarangire riverbed in search of underground springs, of rare species such as eland and oryx around each shrinking lagoon. Before we game drive in Ngorongoro, the finest blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeological sites in Africa, the often-called Africa’s Eden and eighth wonder of the natural world. You will have a chance to meet Maasai people and learn more about their complex and interesting culture before you head back home.


On the final day, we will have a short game drive visiting Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem of jungle and forest. Here you can see baboons hanging from trees, flamingos in the lakes during migration, various bird species including pelicans, cormorants and storks and larger animals like giraffes, elephants and zebras.

Day 1: Flight Zanzibar – Overland Tarangire National Park

After breakfast we depart to Zanzibar Airport for your domestic flight to Selous, upon your arrival at Mtemere airstrip; you will be met by our driver today you will have a full day of game drive in Selous game reserve, with picnic lunch. With an area of around 50,000sq km, (5% of Tanzania’s land surface) Selous game reserve is one of the largest protected areas in the world. Its size is stunning, bigger than Switzerland or Denmark, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. Visitors therefore find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the trodden tourist routes. Its wildlife (including some few remaining Black rhinos and other few BIG 5 ANIMALS) are very spectacular. Later transfer to the lodge for check-in and overnight.

    • Day 2: Full Day; Private Drive to Ngorongoro Crater

    Today you set off towards the Ngorongoro Crater for a beautiful game drive . It shelters close to 30.000 animals including the Big Five. The crater teems with zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs and a small population of the rare black rhino. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater almost surreal. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. After your picnic lunch you will return to the lodge and spend the afternoon enjoying the pool at this boutique luxury lodge. Free optional Karatu town market tour can be arranged on request.

    • Day 3: Lake Manyara – Flight to Zanzibar Island

    After breakfast, with our picnic packed lunch we will have a game drive on visiting Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem of jungle and forest. Here you can see baboons hanging from trees, flamingos in the lakes during migration, various bird species including pelicans, cormorants and storks and larger animals like giraffes, elephants and zebras. Later, slowly driving to Arusha for our last domestic flight to Zanzibar Island.
